Music Ministry

There are approximately 7,000 languages spoken in the world today but there's one language that everybody understands no matter what tongue they speak - Music.

All the different types of music are intergenerational whether they be instrumental or voice. At Browns Pt UMC, kids and adults are encouraged to share their love for singing or a musical instrument no matter what their level of expertise is.

We may not have a rock band every weekend but we have an incredible choir, an Annual Christmas Cantata, and special music events through out the year. Our music agenda isnt just for the 'pros' to play or sing for us. It's an additional opportunity to share whom each of us really are, connect with one another and feel grateful.

Christmas Cantata

In 2018 the Christmas Cantata, presented by singers and musicians of the extended community of BPUMC, was "Forever Christmas" a Christmas Musical by Don Wyrtzen and Phil and Lynne Brower. In words and music the events of the first Christmas are related. Poignant stories tell of individuals discovering for themselves the true meaning of Christmas.

Join us in 2019 and get in the mood for Christmas!

Special Music

During the summer, the choir is on vacation and the baton is passed to the congregation. An invite goes to all the congregation to share their musical talents during worship.

Participants range in age from 12 to 90, people accompany their singing with their instruments or even sing acapella. Sometimes the audience joins in singing church camp songs along with the hand motions that go with the song. Ken Potter, our accompanist, invited The Experimentals acapella group one Sunday. Ken also takes the stage with his dynamic voice and piano playing.
