Nestled into a wooded hillside in Browns Point of North East Tacoma overlooking the Puget Sound, Browns Point United Methodist Church takes a loving progressive approach to faith and life. The beautiful setting helps us temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life all around us -- preparing us to return to the challenges of our daily lives with revived spirits. When we engage God with our church community, we leave inspired to make a difference in the world by loving others as God loves us.
We proudly support our friends in the LGBTIQA community by being a reconciling church. As we are taught in the bible, love our neighbors, we show our love to people from all walks of life.
Also, in other exciting news, the Western District of the Methodist Church elected Rev. Karen Oliveto, the first openly gay bishop on July 15th, 2016!
We welcome all to come join us! We have two services, one at 8:30 a.m. and the next at 10:00 a.m. Coffee and fellowship follow each service. The nursery is available for children at the 10:00 a.m. service year-round. There is also Sunday School for children pre-K through 8th grade during the 10:00 a.m. service. On the first Sunday of every month, the kids remain in the sanctuary with their families. Activities are provided for them to work on at their seat. The nursery is still available on these Sundays.
