Contributing to the ACTS Fund" at BPUMC

Phyllis Shoemake is selling her cards for $4 each and book marks for $1 between services this Sunday.

The money goes to “ The ACTS Fund" at BPUMC.

The ACTS fund is an emergency fund based on the Bibical verse  (Acts 2:45) "and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need." This mission supports folks who come to us in time of urgent need. Many people have used these funds for challenges such as preventing their electricity from being turned off, eviction from their home, gas cards, and providing food for families who do not attend Nouish Food Bank at BPUMC.

On 9/13/2018 we recently helped a familly pay off their gas bill just days before they were going to loose service.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: September 21 – October 14

The Exhibition recreates the awe and wonders of arguably one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements and will let you experience this art from a new perspective. With special expertise and care, the ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been reproduced using state of the art technology. For the observer to fully engage and comprehend the artwork, the paintings have been reproduced in their original sizes. Experience the overwhelming impression with the dimensions of the art, the closeness to the images, and the modern style of the exhibition. As a result, you’ll be able to explore the artwork up close, which is impossible to achieve in the Sistine Chapel.. If you are interested in going as a church group, please RSVP by writing it on your connection card. $15 per person if we have a group of 10 or more.

Learning about Islam - A new class offered October 2018.

Created by the same scholars who made "Living the Questions", this study is "The Jesus Fatwah", or Love your (Muslim) Neighbor as Yourself". Lasting five weeks, the study involves watching DVD material and considering written material that provide reliable information about what Muslims believe, how they live out their faith, and how we can all build relationships across the lines of faith. The material comes from Christian and Islamic scholars. If interested, contact David Warren at liberalguy86@aol.com (253-835-5831). Once interest is expressed, David will contact you about the best day of the week and the best time to meet. Let this be an opportunity to reject the disinformation for accurate information.
